From The Anvil Bean Thumblatches

From The Anvil Bean Thumblatches are traditional thumb latch sets designed for ledge and braced (plank) doors. The thumb-shaped lever operates a bar that passes through the door to lift the latch on the opposite side, allowing the door to open. Made from mild steel, these blacksmith-made latches follow an anvil-and-fire forging process and are typically paired with a T hinge on traditional doors.

Sizes, door thickness and finishes

The range includes Slim, Medium, Medium XL and Heavy versions, letting you choose a style and size to suit your door and proportions. Maximum door thickness varies by option: Slim is suitable for doors up to 45mm thick, Medium and Heavy fit doors up to 55mm thick, and Medium XL fits doors up to 75mm thick.

Finish options are available across the range and include Beeswax, Black and Pewter Patina, with External Beeswax offered on selected versions (finish availability varies by option). Each thumblatch is supplied with matching stainless steel wood screws, depending on the chosen version.
