About the Finish

Our Aged Brass finish is intentionally tarnished using an accelerated ageing process that causes a dark patina to gather around the edges and recesses of the design. This rich colour offers a beautiful contrast against the repolished surface areas, offering an abundance of charm and character perfect for any period dwelling.

Our Aged Bronze products are manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. Due to the process used to age the metal, this finish is very dark and has a rich, matt appearance. During the final stages of manufacturing, we apply a durable, matt lacquer to this finish which helps preserve its distinctive tones.

Our Polished Brass products are made from solid, unlacquered brass and have soft, golden hues which offer a depth of reflection. This works wonderfully in period dwellings but can also be used to bring a classic twist to contemporary properties. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. To restore these products to their former glory, simply polish using a dry cloth and some Brasso.

Our Polished Bronze products are made from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. This finish is aged and then subsequently re-polished to highlight the lighter surface areas against the darker, detailed parts. During the final stages of manufacturing, we apply a robust lacquer which helps preserve this bright contrast.

Our Polished Chrome products are made from a base of solid brass coated with a durable chrome plating to give an exceedingly high-sheen finish. Favoured for its bright, bold appearance, Polished Chrome is well suited to contemporary designs and offers a smooth, mirror finish when polished. This works best if a cool, clean look is desired.

Our Polished Nickel products are manufactured from a solid brass base with a high-quality plating. This finish is bright, reflective, and extremely versatile. When polished, it offers an impressive depth of reflection and has an appropriate place in modern properties, but its warm tones also make it suitable for traditional settings.

Our refined Matt Black finish has a distinct contemporary feel. Naturally, it looks great in ultra-modern interiors, but this versatile finish is timeless and will create a sophisticated statement in traditional or more rustic settings too. The Matt Black finish is applied to a base material of solid steel and then baked in a high temperature oven, resulting in a subtle black patina that emphasises the product’s clean silhouette. This finish is extremely low maintenance and has excellent corrosion resistant properties, making it perfect for use in bathrooms, kitchens or externally where damper environmental conditions are expected.

Our Pewter Patina finish is forged from a durable base of steel and is a fine example of how our unique manufacturing techniques add further detail to the natural charm of metals. The process by which the contrasting textures of this finish are created results in a rich appearance that sits well in characterful, rustic homes but also offers a contemporary alterative in more modern settings. Our Pewter products are complemented by natural materials such as oak or looks equally as good against many paint colours.

Our Polished Marine Stainless Steel is grade 316 and manufactured with high concentrations of chromium and nickel. This finish has extremely resilient corrosion resistant properties, exceeding 1000+ hours salt testing. An excellent choice for coastal locations or polluted environments, where a high sheen look is desired. This finish is very versatile and works equally well with warm and cool tones. For complementary products, we recommend our Polished Chrome finish.

Our Satin Marine Stainless Steel is grade 316 and manufactured with high concentrations of chromium and nickel. This finish has extremely resilient corrosion resistant properties, exceeding 1000+ hours salt testing. An oily cloth can also be used to wipe over the product from time to time to aid protection against exterior or environmental elements.

Also, regular cleaning with the aforementioned furniture polishes will help preserve and maintain the lacquer. We recommend avoiding the use of any chemicals or cleaning products on this finish as it may affect the plated finish. An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the product from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. A dry cloth can also be used to wipe over the product and reduce finger marks. Regular oiling of all moving parts using our ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337) is beneficial to the longevity of your products. This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
