All products are protected with a high-performance lacquer designed to provide durable, long-term protection under normal internal conditions.
When maintained correctly, this finish will offer many years of service.
For routine care, clean using a soft cloth moistened with mild soapy water, or gently buff the surface with a beeswax-treated cloth.
Metal cleaners and aerosol sprays must not be used, as these products can damage or break down the lacquer coating.
Over time, and particularly on external fittings, the lacquer layer may begin to deteriorate as a result of environmental exposure.
The lifespan of the lacquer is therefore outside the manufacturer’s control and cannot be guaranteed.
If lacquer breakdown occurs, the fitting should be removed and any remaining coating carefully stripped using an acetone-based thinner
(such as Nitromors), following the product manufacturer’s instructions.
Once stripped, the item should be fully dried with a soft cloth and polished using a suitable metal polish such as Brasso or Duraglit.
At this stage, the product may be re-lacquered if required; however, for external applications we strongly recommend leaving the brass
unlacquered and polishing periodically as part of routine maintenance.
