Iron products, whether cast or malleable, are naturally prone to rusting over time, particularly when exposed to moisture or humid environments. To reduce this risk, our black ironmongery is protected with an epoxy powder coating applied through a controlled, multi-stage heat and spray process.

During normal use, areas where metal components move or come into contact may experience gradual wear to the surface coating. This is an expected characteristic of iron products and occurs as a result of natural abrasion during operation.

Where contact points are visible on moving parts, an occasional application of a light oil is recommended. This helps to preserve the appearance of the finish and slows the onset of surface corrosion.

To further protect the product, ironmongery should be wiped periodically with a lightly oiled cloth to remove harmful deposits. This maintenance is especially important in coastal or high-salt environments, where airborne contaminants can significantly accelerate corrosion.
